Celebrate ALSO’s 25th Anniversary with Us!

Back in 1997, ALSO began its mission to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Oregon. Since then, we have grown at a rate that we could have only dreamed of all those years ago. This year marks ALSO’s 25th anniversary on December 15th. As we look back at all of our accomplishments, we invite you to share in the joy of knowing that so many people have access to the services and support they need through the heart work of ALSO advocates.

ALSO’s Accomplishments Over the Years

Historical timeline of milestones for ALSO in Oregon.

Supported Employment Success

Our quarter-of-a-century experience has brought so many wonderful people into our lives. Even through the worst times of the pandemic, we have been able to provide support and services.

Looking back at our employment services we discovered that, since 2017, we’ve provided supported employment to an estimated 80 individuals with disabilities. Since then, we’re happy to say that many of them have been able to move to self-sufficiency in employment, which is our ultimate goal. We’re always happy to continue providing support and services when needed, however.

The pandemic required some adjustments. During that time, we were only able to support an estimated four or five individuals at their jobs. Now, in our 25th anniversary year, ALSO is currently supporting 54 people in person, and more through our VR services.
